THE FIRST PRIDE WAS A RIOT
It’s more than rainbows and parades. It’s a celebration of validating intersectionality, self-acceptance, and the continued fighting for equal rights. The bravery and refusal to accept anything less than liberation ignited a movement led by trans women of color and Black lesbians for all LGBTQ+ people to have the freedom to live as they are. This month we celebrate those who paved the way. Living their wildest dream.
West Fifteenth is proud to stand up against the violence the Black community faces daily and the continued fight against systems in place to discriminate against ALL people of color.
